The Folk Group has been retained by three buyers seeking metal casting companies. There are no fees to you if our client acquires your company.

 

Die Casting

Buyer 1 – Aluminum or zinc die casting.  Sales to $5 million or work can be moved to their plant. Our client will buy the entire company in place if located in the Midwest.  Also open to just buying the work.  Need not be profitable.  Well funded and responds very quickly.

 

Buyer 2 – Aluminum or zinc die casting.  Sales from $5 million to $50 million.  Location can be anywhere in the U.S. but preference is given to the Midwest.  Profitable not required. Currently has multiple die casting plants on three continents.  Management should plan to stay.

 

Aluminum or Brass

Buyer 3 – Aluminum or brass green sand foundry.  Preference is for squeezers, cope and drag, roto-lift or no-bake.  Prefers not to have automatic molding.  Location in the Midwest.  Will buy the entire facility or just the work.  Prefer turnaround opportunities.

Steel Foundry – Small foundry (8 – 10 employees) in right-to-work state.  Induction melting with 2,500 pound furnaces ideal.  Should be no-bake. Can also be no-bake iron foundry with induction melting.  Buyer has work to put in.

 

Iron Foundries

Iron Buyer 1 - Ductile iron preferred.  Minimum sales $20 million.  Non-automotive.  Anywhere in the U.S.  Minimum sales outside U.S. $30 million.  Profitable strongly preferred.  Union o.k.  Management does not have to stay.

 

Mutiple Buyers - Gray/ductile iron.  Must be able to produce castings in excess of 30,000 pounds.  Need not be profitable.  Anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

 

Iron Buyer 2 - Ductile/gray iron.  Mid-Atlantic region.  Sales $5 - $20 million.  Must be very profitable. 

 

Aluminum

Buyer 1 - Any type aluminum casting but customer base must be focused on aerospace applications.  Anywhere in U.S. or Canada.   Profitable preferred, but not necessary.  Sales to $50 million, possibly greater.

 

Die Casting - We have several strategic buyers located both in the U.S. and offshore seeking die casters.  In the current industry condition, some will "buy" the work from the plant. There are several qualified buyers seeking profitable die casters and will purchase the entire business.  A few will consider acquiring entire unprofitable companies.  There is one very qualified buyer with work who is seeking aluminum die casting with smaller machines - 500 tons and down.  Two are looking for U.S. backup to their offshore casting facilities.

 

Distressed Companies, Any Metal

Distressed Buyer 1 - Currently owns iron and aluminum foundries.  Would like to add steel.  Will acquire any metal.  Distressed only.  Sales $10 million and up.  Smaller considered if add on to existing facility.  Quick response.

 

Street Castings - Major supplier of municipal castings seeks smaller competitors for consolidation.

 

Brass/Bronze - Mid-west company seeking brass or bronze foundry.  Willing to purchase the work or the entire business.
